Well, today I'm feeling a wee bit tired.  Hardly surprising really - not going to bed before 11.30 and then getting up at 5.45 will do that to you I suppose.  I keep telling myself I have to get an early night but some how it never happens.  I've been doing this for a week and a half now and it really isn't sensible - I know this, I just can't seem to break the pattern at the moment.

Anyway, in other news, my friend came round for dinner last night and we watched Knocked Up - never seen it before and on the whole I liked it.  Not my favourite film but good enough.  I cooked Tai Green Chicken Curry which was so yummy and I had enough to bring in for lunch today - whoo! :-D

So, I promised you guys some more funny stories from the ranch - and I always try to keep my promises...

Yeah, so before I went away to America (back in August!) I promised various people that I would update this page with my goings on while I was over there...as you can see, I did really well with that idea!  lol  But I'm back now, so I'll try to add some stories over the next few days that will hopefully give you a giggle and if I can figure out how to get pictures up, I will!

I hope that gave you all a good laugh - believe me, I was nearly peeing myself while it was going on!  :-)  All I could think was 'This is so bloody typical!!'

Well, today I submitted my first fic to the MNFF site :-)  It's my one-shot for the MWPP class that I have been taking.  It took me ages to sort out a very minnor formatting problem (I can be so dense on some occassions) but it's done now and it's in the queue.  Fingers crossed it will get validated very shortly...if it does you know I'll be posting about it here!  Actually, either way I'll be posting here.

In other news, the weather this week has been so, so nice.  It makes such a difference when the weather is nice.  I also just heard on the radio that you can now take a bus from London to New York for the small sum of £5,000 for a one-way ticket!!  Who the heck would take a BUS from London to New York?!?!  Especially when it costs double of a plane ticket!  Apparently the service is being provided by a company called 'Oz Bus'.  I sometimes wonder what the world is coming too.

Oh speaking of stupid things, I got suck in a traffic jam yesterday on the way home for over half an hour after an accident happened on the road.  When I actually got to where the accident had occured I saw that it was right by a layby and the police could have pushed one car six inches and it would have been clear of the road (the other car was already off the road) and there would have been no problems what so ever.  Did they do that?  Did they heck!  Stupid Traffic Wombles...

If there are one or more people on your friends list who make your world a better place just because they exist, and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the Internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

Yes, I stole that from Samarie's page and Nikki's page :-)  But the sentiment still holds true - there are many of you out there who I would not know if it weren't for the internet *hugs*

Sorry, I haven't updated in a while (maybe that doesn't bother you though!) but not much has been happening to be honest.  I have nearly finished my one-shot for my MWPP class so hopefully I'll be submitting that tomorrow (possibly) - I'll let you know.  My other WIP is coming along nicely - chapter 21 has been started and the early chapters are all being beta'ed at the moment.  I may even have come up with a title :-)  Hip hip hooray!  Only been trying to do that for the last month!

Anyway, I'm at work so I should actually do some work I suppose...how dull. Takecare everyone! xXx

Well, I was too hot last night to sleep properly which resulted in my waking at the ungodly hour of 5.45am!  Grr.  But then it was made better when I logged into my e-mail to find that the wonderful Meda had made me a banner for my OC in my (as yet) untitled WIP.  Meda has been reading it as I've been writing it and she created the most perfect banner...

All I can say is that I love this banner so much - it just fits the story and Sophia perfectly!  *huggles to Meda*

Hopefully, I'm not too far off from starting to submit chapters of the story to the MNFF website...just need to find a title...hmmm...

So you might have already seen these but I have only just found them and they made me giggle.  Hope they do the same for you.

I really wish I was that quick off the mark sometimes :-)

In other news, I had to drop my mum off at the airport this morning...at 7am!  That meant that I saw the wrong side of 6am (is there a right side I ask myself?) and I'm now at work...and have been since 7.30, although technically, I wasn't working then...I was surfing the internet.  I'm not really working now, only covering the phones and running errands as I'm here a favour because they are short staffed (this isn't where I normally work btw).

I can't wait for the end of the day though, as then it is the weekend and with mum away I won't be nagged every five minutes ;-)  I have a lovely weekend planned - playing with the horses and writing more of my story and my MWPP class finals piece.  Oh, and I have to pull the ragwort from the field but that's ok providing I have my iPod :-)   xXx

Your result for The Best Thing About You Test...

Humility

Humility is your strongest virtue. You are humble.

Humility is the defining characteristic of an unpretentious and modest person, someone who does not think that he or she is better or more important than others. And you? When you do the right thing, you're doing it for all the right reasons. All 7 virtues are a part of you, but your humility runs deepest.

It is likely you're a quiet type. But if not, then you just have dark, secret side that loves to give.

Humble famous people: JD Salinger, Isaac Newton, Harry Potter (pre-puberty)

Your raw relative scores follow. 0% is low, and 100% is perfect, nearly impossible. Note that I pitted the virtues against each other, so in some way these are relative scores. It's impossible to score high on all of them, and a low score on one is just relatively low compared to the other virtues.

YOUR VIRTUES

50% Compassion

56% Intelligence

75% Humility

33% Honesty

13% Discipline

29% Courage

67% Passion

Both myself and Claire think this is pretty accurate for me - even down to the horse photo and the mention of Harry Potter!  haha!

Also I found the link from Samarie

Ok, so we all do it I'm sure - take a 5 minute skive.  Yesterday, Claire (friend at work) and I did just this and played a game of Checkers on MSN Messenger.  What followed was the most random and confusing conversation I think I have ever had on Messenger.  To set this up, Claire was winning (by miles) and had four checkers on the board while I only had one.  She also refused to let me resign and insisted that I carried on playing until she won fair and square.

Ruth says:

I have one thing left now against four!

Claire says:

"one thing"

Claire says:

get with the checkers jargon!

Ruth says:

1 checker then

A few minutes pass while I hopeless hop my piece about the board trying to miss Claire's four pieces.

Ruth says:

I'm trying to resist 'checker-side'

Claire says:

what's that?

Ruth says:

it's the checkers verision of Suidicide

Ruth says:

I guess i should have written 'checker-cide'

Ruth says:

that would have made more sense

Claire says:

what's suidicide?

Ruth says:

oh gosh...my typing has gone to hell in a handbasket

Claire says:

ha ha!

Ruth says:

Suicide

Ruth says:

Is what I ment

Claire says:

Yeah I knew that

Claire says:

what is suicide then?

Ruth says:

you are joking right?

Claire says:

no

Ruth says:

I can't tell on MSN

Ruth says:

When you take your own life

Claire says:

y not?

Claire says:

oh my god

Claire says:

I just got what this whole conversation is about

Ruth says:

No I ment I can't tell if you are joking on MSN

Ruth says:

LOL

Claire says:

I'm actually laughing out loud (silently)

Ruth says:

So am I

Claire says:

I thought checker-cide was actually a game

Claire says:

and I thought suicide was actually a game

Claire says:

I didnt' realise you were making a joke!! !

Ruth says:

Oh my guidy aunt

Ruth says:

what a pair we make

Claire says:

I know!!!!!

I hope that made you laugh as much as we did! :-)

So, this morning wasn't brilliant.  When you have work and you wake up at 8.10 when you normally leave the house at 7.45 it tends to put you into a bit of a panic.  I flew around the house like a tornado and managed to leave by 8.30 and so I was only late by 15 minutes.

However, the rest of the day was ok.  I went out on my lunch break and bought two CDs - Nickleback and Lifehouse.  I must say that I love the song 'You and Me' by Lifehouse and I didn't realise that Jason Wade was in Lifehouse - that was a lovely little surprise as I love the song 'You Belong to Me' that he sings.

Random fact from QI:  You can walk on custard...truely you can.  Don't say I don't give you any educational facts.

Anyway, off to work on my fic now :-) xXx
